We deliver hands-on IT training and digital literacy programs, incubate homegrown software ventures, and partner with government and global institutions to close Nigeria's digital skills gap — starting in Kano, reaching communities that get left behind first.

Our Story

Two decades, one throughline

2003

Founded in Kano

Began as a practical IT training initiative, long before "digital literacy" was a national policy conversation.

2012

Formally registered

Pioneers ICT Nigeria Ltd incorporated, formalising a decade of training work.

2024

IDEAS / IGF grant secured

Partnered with YEHDI in a consortium to deliver a ₦125M Digital Skills Development Plan — Web Design, UI/UX, Product Branding, and SEO — across Kano Central Senatorial District.

2025–2026

Incubation Unit accelerates

Connecta, Medicata, VTStack, OyaOya!, SabiBot, and Smartie Bot move from idea to live product, and Pioneers joins the GATEWAY Program with CcHUB and the Mastercard Foundation.

Founder's Story

Hassan Umar Dankura

Co-founder and CEO of Pioneers ICT since inception in 2003. Two decades leading the organisation from a single training room to a company running a 120-seat training hall, a coworking hub, a Mentorship & Incubation Unit behind six live ventures, and national partnerships spanning IDEAS, TVET, GATEWAY, and JAMB.
